I pulled this dime while cherrypicking the other day. It is definately either a 1916D or a 1916S. Which do you think?

It sure looks like an S to me, but it's worth closer examination. Can you get a closer image of the mintmark area? What is the degree of die rotation? Each of the four die pairs for 1916-D has a specific rotation.

The top right corner of the mint mark is killer, unless you can clearly identify PMD at that point. It's an "S."

Ah well I suppose it is an S, but now the question is would it be a PO1 or an FR2?

I don't recall the rotations off hand, but the information is on the web. Although I agree with the others that it the top right corner of the mint-mark makes it almost certainly an S, and the only reason I'm not "sure" is because the resolution of the image makes me unsure that the corner is actually a corner.

David Lange "Complete Guide to Mercury dimes" book has reference for the positions, its available online for free. I think is safe to say is the S mint from the photo, condition IMO is PO1.
