Currently on the trip to the in-laws in Albuquerque and went through the coin jugs of each of my two brothers-in-law (with their approval, of course!) and thought I was getting a fairly high copper find rate on the cents. Granted, it was small sample of only about 350 cents, but the copper find rate was 18%, with the oldest find being 1960. 18% seems a little high. Thoughts?
One other score... my brother-in-law's wife had a few coins sitting in a small piggy bank that she thought looked unique. They included a few not-so-special SBAs, Ikes and Kennedys, but also present were a 1961 and 1962 Franklin, buth in excellent BU shape. I gave her right in between what I would expect a dealer to pay her for the coins and what I would expect to pay a dealer myself. She was happy to get the money, and I was happy to add two beautiful Frankies to my collection.

I average 20-25% copper from bank rolls here in Oregon, 18% doesn't seem high for my area.

In central TX 18% is about as high as I've seen in the 10 or so boxes I've gone through.

In the Willamette Valley here in Oregon, I'm averaging about 22% everytime.
His sister? No, no, no. His (bkprewitt) brother-in-law is his (bkprewitt) wifes brother. The said "brother" is married to the gal who had a few coins in a small piggy bank down there in Albuquerque.

It varies. Three boxes only $10 in copper(although one box was 2009),CWR from same bank run around 15-20%.Another bank(out of town) produced 60% copper, mostly 1981.

Your copper find rate is low based on my numbers ...
Baltimore MD searcher ... and I have averaged 25.6% copper over my previous 10 boxes.

I never even thought about keeping track of that since I just dump anything I don't want, can't use, back in change. Copper or not.

18%, that would be a disappointing number for me, in bank rolls I get here, I usually find about 25ish%
