Even among collectors who know the value, how many of us are confident enuf of our own abilities that we'd buy from someone walking down the street?

I would be hesitant to buy from a guy on the street. It could be fake or plated.

At least in a store you'd get ID and be able to test it.

I agree, Barry. That would be my thought too, although most thieves do not bring along a cameraman to record their deals.
