*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***I picked up a Stone Mountain Half last night and it should be in-hand within a week. I will post my images of it soon, till then, here are the sellers images of it; I have looked at a few of these, and the majority that I saw had weakly struck noses on Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. This one did not. However on the reverse, there are a few "hits" on the rim which may require some scrutiny upon receipt of the coin. Edited by oih82w8 02/01/2012 2:35 pm

Appears from here to be a very nice example of this popular silver commemorative. Looking forward to seeing your photos once the coin is home safe. David

Great Southern Coin offering? That picture style is very familiar. If it is, check very closely for "cleaning" as they have earned a reputation.

Yes, SeatedNut it is a Great Southern coin. I will definitely give it a careful eye for cleaning, and of course, post images for the CCF to state their opinions as well. I was so focused on the obverse (strong struck nose on Stonewall Jackson, that I overlooked a rim ding and possible crack on the reverse between United and Half. Another one of those highly rated wholesalers "cleaning" out their constantly increasing inventory? They have a Return Policy, which is something that I look for with any seller. They always seem to have some pretty nice coins and some of their buyers go off the deep end on their bids.

Item arrived...not getting those joy-joy feelings about this; ...then again I am working on finding the "sweet spot" with these Jansjo lamps.

Does it look like the pictures from your OP? if not, those may have been stock photos.

It is the same coin as the line at the rim below the H in half is there as well as a rim anomaly a little further up from there. As mentioned before GSC coins are photographed with the best look to them and commonly they are not as nice as their photos represent.

It's the same coin, like muddler mentioned about the reverse rim identifiers. I am still trying to get the feel for the Jansjo lamps, but to the eye of the beholder, it is going back to Great Southern. They must use some powerful lighting/photo editing to get their coins to look that good in the OP, it did not look that good in hand, let alone with my limited photography/lighting abilities.
