2 Dollar note 1976 with the green seal over the 'T' and 'W' of the word TWO at the right of the portait.
The other 2 Dollar note also 1976 with the green seal predominantly over the 'W' (effectively smack in the centre of the word.

Question: Is this an error or a less than rare variation?
I'm asking this for a friend.

I have looked at my 1976 $2 and the green seal dances all over the word TWO. Barely touching the O, to barely touching the T, to up almost touching "Washington,D.C.", to down almost touching the signature. Unless part of the serial number overlap part of the design or is missing, I don't think they really have a premium.

Take a look at this from a while ago. The 3rd over print has to touch another portion of the print to be considered an error. The shift / misalignment error varies from Minor to Major.
