It's a die chip, not a Cud (a Cud has to be touching the rim). It's a keeper though!

Die chips in the memorial are fairly common. Yours seems to be pretty large however. I think they have been deemed "Bee Hives" I wouldn't want to come across a bee hive that big.

wz1f, we are in the same boat looking for first DD. all I find is MD, only one 98 WAM and nothing else! hopefully we get there soon... look at this one I found, pretty much the same as yours. mine is an 07, really good condition, I have it listed on ebay for $7.99, I usually get one or two watchers but never a bid. Ill get a bite eventually.

Hi Timras14. that is almost the same coin as mine but yours is a bit better condition. I have found a few WAMs and a few Brass plated planchets.A lot of clashes but no DD yet. Maybe this year we will find one. Good luck.
