Found all these in rolls. Just took pictures of them all so you can see and compare. I've been finding one of these per box or two since I started looking for die cracks in this area.

not an expert, but I will state what appears obvious to me.....the weak spot on the dies appears to be the area from the E in "WE" and the tip of old Tom Jeff's nose

I have one of these, in fact, I think it's a completely split die. I'll have to get a picture when I get a chance.

Also the brow. Probably the chin also? Because the design is extending toward the rim, the cracks develope. Thanks for posting these images.

Interesting die crack, always in a similar position...does the US mint ever re-use the dies for modern Jefferson nickels and change the date (an insert) or is the date always part of the rest of the die...I would assume the latter, since I have never heard of "insert marks" near a date, but as a noob, I just don't know...

They wouldn't be reused year-to-year for modern coins. Reverses may have been reused somewhat years ago, and there's a few cases of this resulting in transitional errors for modern coins.

thanks for the feedback. Some were only visible with the right light at the right angle, but since I know what to look for now, I should be finding a lot more.

I would make some Pinocchio jokes, but I don't see Jefferson as a liar.
