Pre-selling the cash cow... without an image... sure sign good design and the effort the RCM puts into the series will slowly slip. 3 a year is too many. The first three coins were all good in different ways. Wait to see what the next coin looks like... then decide if it is worth continuing to collect this series.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? The RCM has a cash cow they don't care.

canadian_coins posted his/her design for what the next coin could look like.

I do agree with you all though, one or two coins a year is enough. Too many per year will spoil the series.

Mooooo... lol... I don't know if you are making fun of me or my comment or the subscription service, doesn't matter... from now on instead of using the words granny bait... I am just going to comment Moooo on those type of coins.

....

I think any shift in the balance will bring the series down... mintage, if someone can hoard a large number to just flip them, poor artwork, too many a year... Right now the series is good as far as NCLT's are concerned. Lets see what the next coin brings... if the RCM slaps that wolf or some other stock art they have... the people over at red flags deals can have them all.

Sigh, I'm already turned off this series. Two a year is likely too many... one a year would have been perfect. The design of the polar bear is fabulous, but I haven't ordered because it looks as though they are milking this too far...

chequer: I think it is unfair to be turned off by any of the coins though. The marketing or too much talk about them, sure. But if the series remains the same - it would be a good series of coins to recommend to new/occasional collectors. It is cheap, it is safe, really good Canadian type artwork, any changes and the series will fall apart. I would rather just see the RCM end the series then drive it into the ground for profits, but they are a Crown Cor. and they must go for the $cash$.

I agree two is too many and they are talking 3. They should pull back to 2 or if too late, then next year only 1. If no good design comes up then skip a year. Make it random when they release them. They would be a good chase item.

So far the series is well done. I thought it was good to buy for anyone if they just wanted to try out coins. I thought there would be 200,000 a year. 3 x 250,000 is now just a numbers game... the sure sign a bottom is coming - the balance is upset.

They are still relatively inexpensive and nice looking 'coins,' but I was originally picking them up for an occasional gift for others (my mother-in-law collected coins for years until her house was broken into and her collection stolen... she couldn't spend anymore of her own money on coins after that, so I give her the occasional item) and I just have that 'feeling' that the gouging is already starting with this series. I used to love mint products... many, many years ago, when I'd purchase the double dollar set and the PL set. Then everything exploded and I don't like them now. It's just my opinion/feelings and I'm certain at some point down the road I may regret some of the things I collect now.

I don't know if making random releases would be the best idea, it prevents hype. I would have a countdown on the webpage of how many days until the next coin is revealed.

I dont think you can go wrong with the series, it's $20 for $20 and ships for free. It's fun for all types of collectors.
