I cant find the original thread pertaining to this sold out coin below in the 1st link, so here goes.
http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/limit...0-prod700001
Tho I placed my web order with the RCM within 24 hours of this coins release,a follow-up call with them revealved that I am one of the customers pending delivery sometime in late January. I made them guarantee that as through their ongoing order filling incompetancies have been lost in the shuffle before.
You may notice that that the coin is sold out at the mint with a low circulation of 5,000, with an intial price of $139.
Now I stumbled across this Quebec City dealer who apparantley has got some of these and he's selling them for $249.

Just trying to give you guys a lead, should you think that the $249 may be a signal of whats really in store down the road with this very low mintage specific coin.

I'm not sure how it works up there, but I always get the feeling that there are way too many "limited mintage" coins out there to expand value based on a coin's design, etc. Maybe as a proof silver it will increase?

Bullion with a pretty picture on it.

"Limited mintage" creates interest where there would usually be none, because mainstream collectors aren't really interested in NIFC coins.

To each his own, though.

Why not threaten to cancel your gold kilo order?

I find all these modern R.C.M. coins look like something you'd find in a value meal at McDonald's Restaurant after asking to Supersize your fries and soda!

Re: The 2010 Limited Edition Sun coin.
Check your post office. Just phoned mine and it is in stock. Interesting. The coin is sold out but the post office has one.
Gerry.

Thanks for the lead dukester. I'm going to the coin show listed below in this link this weekend, and if anyone has it, I'm going to get it there and cancel my order.

Im sure you guys are sick and tired of me going on and on about this coin, and along with my RCM mint bashing, but I promise this will be the last entry.
Just got back from a coin show in Toronto, Keele and Shepperd, and a dealer had this coin in his display case. $329! For a $149 dollar because it sold out at the RCM.
The RCM better make good on their promise that its still going to ship to me.

Am I the only one that thinks that sun coin is ugly? Is it some sort of famous logo that I should recognize or something?

What may have contributed most to the quick sell-out isn't so much the design... perhaps low mintage and the fact that it is struck with ultra high relief. Just a guess.

Well, I had enough and I called the mint today about my web order for this coin from Oct 14th.
After mentioning to the representitive that this time I'd like them to shoot for delivery before Christmas 2010, he put me on hold, then came back and told me to expect delivery during the 1st or second week of February.
At the same time I put a verbal order in for this low mintage set that I think is out of this world.
Im actually more excited about this set than the screw-driver coin.
Get-em while they're hot. I got the email notification yesterday about this coin, and within 5 hours from this mornings order, I'm now noticing its sold out? Holey cow.

I gotta say I'm not a big fan of the Sun coin. I think the only thing it has going for it is the low mintage..... just my opinion.

that Silver Maple Leaf set on the other hand is a very nice set of coins and with that mintage, very temping.
