Were there any 1929 Pennies that are not copper/zinc? I have a 1929 Wheat penny that appears to be steel.

Thanks-

Steve

Steve,

Only the 1943 cents were steel. Some folks with too much time on their hands plate or dip coins to make them appear to be silver or steel. Quickest way to confirm is with a magnet. If it's plated copper it won't stick. If it sticks you'll need to post lots of close-up pictures.
Rest in Peace

As planchets for the '43 weren't even prepared yet, your chances of having a '43 on copper are greater.

Could be a wrong planchet such as a dime. Does a magnet stick to it?
