Conservatively, I would say it is XF45, maybe AU50.
I know it's a scan. If you have a camera, try to post better images of your new commemorative acquisitions.

Hmmm ... the scans of this coin mixed in with the other six led me to hope it might be MS ... but alas not.

This individual scan tells me XF45 or so ... and quite honestly I question whether this coin is genuine.

I may be completely wrong ... and offer the following insights to help you make your own determination.

There is some unusual toning/stain going on. The 'light' spots are curious to me ... look for example at the flow of light area on the obverse ... wonder if that is truly there or an artifact of the scans?

Also ... have you weighed the coin? Hoping it is somewhere near 12.5 grams ... with a slight weight loss due to circulation wear. A 'typical' genuine circulated example in this state (XF45) should weigh 12.1 to 12.4 grams in my experience.

There appear to be two 'dots' on the obverse that are proud of the surface ... and these do not appear on a genuine example. Look at 7pm in the fields (before the legend Centennial) and also at 3pm in the field between the I and N of Illinois.

Also that 'dot' under Lincoln nose ... is that really there?

Are these really there ... and are they proud (stick up) of the surface?

This coin was minted with a really cool (and uniform) beading on the interior of the rims ... all genuine examples I have seen have the beading complete ... this coin has the beading complete in some areas and disappearing in many others ... look at the obverse betwen 4pm to 5pm ... and the reverse between 5pm to 6pm.

Look as well on the reverse at the T of United ... that weird shape is not how the USA Mint issued this coin.

Hope I'm all wrong ... but in the honest spirit of sharing I encourage you to determine on your own if this coin is genuine ... if it were in my hands I would have some questions about it.

Not to steal your thread ... but for comparison to help you ... here is a photo of a PCGS MS65 Illinois half ... note the differences I spoke about:

Let us know what you determine ... if genuine ... XF45 and a $110 coin.

David

i can not find my loop so I really can not see the issues you describe with my naked eye, I do know the edge is the same all away around so that I believe is scan isues as well as probably some scratches on the scanner glass from where I have not treated it well

i pulled out my cabellas reloading scale and is showing a little light on the 50 grain test weights, and I have weighed each of these and they range from 11.4-12.5 grams on my scale, this coin is showing 11.7 grams, but that is heavier than a clad Kennedy half that I pulled out of the drawer which weighed in at 11.2, the stone moutain weighed in @11.4 and one I had for several years with more visable wear weighed in at 12.4, so now I am thouroly confused I might have just wasted $250.00

I did not intend for you to worry ..

Look at your own scans and you should see all the things I pointed out (and more) ...

Relax ... find your loupe and confirm yes or no if you see these things on the coin itself ... might just be poor scans

Alas ... 11.7 grams for this coin (if an accurate weight) is not a good sign.

Truly need high resolution pictures ... do you own a camera?

yes I have a digital camera, but mama(my wife is gone to texas to visit our daughter), and she has the camera, so I can not take pictures till she returns, she has put up my loop and I can not find it untill she returns.

i see the issues that you pointed out on the scan, and to my naked 57 year old eyes they are not detectable.
the coins look authenic to the eye with an appearance of honest circulation at the xf to high au grades a couple nearing low ms grades.

my scale is one we have used for years reloading for long range rifle competition matches.

I have it leveled and it is showing .01g heavy on a 50gram test weight, it is reading the same on both of the test wieghts, that came with the unit.

hear is some weights that I am getting from various known coins
1971 ike dollar= 22.54grams
74 kennedy half= 11.19grams
2011 lincoln penny= 2.48grams
1921 alabama half= 12.475g
1925 stone mountain= 12.47g
1946 booker t= 12.49g

now the pig in poke coins
1920 pilgrim= 11.990grams
1936s arkansaw= 12.14g
1936d arkansaw= 12.33g
1924 hugenot= 11.745g
1925 stone mtn= 11.41g
1918 illinois= 11.7g
1883 hawaii half= 11.395g

the arkansaws are close, the rest are weighing in under 12 grams, while I can understand the reason someone might conterfit the hawaii and the illinois, do they go as far as to fake the heavy population stone mountains?

i guess I bought a true pig in a poke?
