so here was the ebay listing from last week.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/28081874732....m1497.l2649

and here is the coin in hand.
i tried to to this with my ott light. thinking of getting an ikea light... prob cheaper too
now, the questions is, is this coin flipable? I paid $75+free shipping... I would think I can get $100+ for it? if not, I have an ms64 Cleveland Comm that I think I can get $150+ for.

Why so many of the same exact photo?

Why so many questions?

I'm not sure what you are looking for in this rambling post ... sooo ... I'll comment on the coin ... appears by the (multiple) photos to be a splotchy toned AU example of a common classic silver commemorative half ... great design ... not a pretty example of it.

Nicklesearcher was very nice in his statements on this coin. The toning is unattractive and that also is being nice. As for "flipping" you would be lucky to break even on your expenditure with the fees on ebay. This coin would be a pass for serious collector.

i dont mean to sound harsh. I know he was being very nice and informative.

i really wanted to know what you guys thought as per the grade and if I were to sell it, would I be able to make a profit if any. and now, I feel like I have a good answer. I probably shouldnt have bought it if that was my intention. I may as well put it in my 7070. =D

Wow. Is it just me or is it that time of the month?

Anyhow, I don't say this often but I think this coin would benefit from an expert dipping. Try that and then sell it.

You asked ... sooo ... I will provide some honest answers beyond my kind reply given above.

Your $75 San Diego pickup with it's blotchy toning is an ugly example of a great coin ... and not attractive to any serious collector that has a true interest in this great series of coins.

You made a $75 mistake ... unless you can hopefully find a newbie on E-Pray who does not know better ... you can not IMHO flip this coin for the price you paid and make a profit.

AU-something IMHO ... but impossible to judge through the photos and splotchy toning.

That's probably the best plan going forward.

Sooo ... have I now answered the questions.

Looking forward to photos (one only please of each side) of any future silver commemorative you come across.

IN My opinionI have seen this coin looking better, I seriously believe the coin, in this condition grades better than AU, I see plenty of original luster, I see a crisp strike, where it is clearly able to be seen.

I do not know what your intentions are for the coin, I collect commemoratives and I DO NOT have this sweet coin in my collection, IF I read this correctly you spent $75.00 dollars, IMO, You did well, sure the coin has some "hard on the eyes issues", past that, you have a nicely struck, lusterous coin with good bones.
I would NOT clean the coin in any way, I see how people could easily say the coin has a "hard on the eyes" look, but they are not looking past the surface, IMO.
I collect commemoratives and this coin is NOT as bad as it on first look, appears, just my opinion, collecting since 1963, goodluck, Mike.....
