Sorry about the sound, I never noticed because I haven't turned my speakers on while I was there. if you mute them, it does have alot of info and decent pics for the medals.

Yes, the site you referenced is a great site for info on these attractive medals -- I can't really add any info. I started collecting them more than 15 years ago and now have a complete set of the 62 Commemorative issues and 7 Special issues. I also have the Daytona Beach Coin Club medal, but I'm not actually pursuing the several private CC issues that Heraldic Art produced (mainly for one club). Truth be told, I completed my set tonight via ebay. I had been missing one medal for the last 6 or 7 years, but was able to win it tonight in a well contested auction! I probably paid too much, but after searching for so long... ebay is about the best source for these medals -- I see them frequently -- though the medal tonight is the only one that I have purchased via ebay. I purchased mine years back at coin shows at the tables of dealers who carry (or specialize in) medals and tokens and through a fellow collector who had acquired a large group of them and was selling them individually. Good luck with your set!

hi, commems. i am guessing the american bicentennial? I was watching and seen it go through the roof I was in at like 77 and that was it. but to complete a set who cares. I did get 8 new ones tonight on ebay. do you have any doubles or extras of any? my set is now at 27 of 67. not bad for collecting these for 3 weeks total. I love these medals and even made a dansco album for them. labels and all. rob

@gilgerr24: Yes. I'm now the proud owner of HA's American Bicentennial medal - it was a long time coming! Congrats on the latest acquisitions! Looks like you're making real nice progress. I didn't buy many dupes when I was building my set, but I'll check and see what (if any) I have. I store mine in the PCGS-style "slabs" sold by CoinWorld. Do you intend to get the thick and thin issues for the first two releases?

hi, just checked email and seen you wrote back 1 min ago. yes I made spots for thick and thin in my dansco, and I have to buy a bigger blank page for the specials that are a little bit bigger. I currently have both thins. like you I'm not actually pursuing the several private CC issues either, unless I see one then I will buy it just to have at least one. but have yet to see any on ebay, even with the nearly complete sets being offered in the last couple weeks. I do hopefully have a couple leads to maybe boost my collection from a couple dealers. will see how that goes. I did get 2 more tonight, so 29 and counting. let me know if you find any or find anyone selling them. thanks rob

gilgerr24: I apologize for not responding to your message before now, I've been active in other CCF areas lately and haven't been back here until this morning.
Congrats on finishing the set -- you sure do move quickly! I'm jealous that you found a set of the Coin Club medals -- makes me want to get a set now too!
I checked through my HA medals to see if I had an extra Hawaii (Thick) -- I don't. I thought I had a few extras at one time, but it looks like I may have let them go to other collectors when I heard of their needs. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

I picked this one up for my horse-themed collection. All of the 1961 medals (#7-#9) feature horses, and this was the last of the 1961 group that I needed.
