Here are two more I recently purchased, and had a chance to image. They are #6 and #8 respectively (1960 and 1961 issues).

I think HERALDIC ART So-Called Half Dollars are really nice/cool! I could kick myself for not buying these a few years ago. Back in 2009 Before Silver price jumped, I purchased a 1968 Illinois Statehood to go with the LINCOLN coin stuff that year. You could win these on ebay for $10-$12 in 2009 Now with Silver price up, they go for $25+ each. This month...Same person on ebay was up all the 1960 Boy Scouts and paying $41-$44 each. Not counting the Thick & Thin issues in 1959, which of these are the Hottest?

Hi Penny4Me I love these Medals. I have entire set, including thick and thin of both, as well as all of the coin club medals that were made by Heraldic Art during the same time. The harder ones to get are the Hawaii and St Lawerance THICK. Also the ones #30 and higher are hard to find. the Edison goes for $200+. I am selling alot of extras on ecrater and ebay glad you reminded me, I am going to update my listing I have a few more to add to it including St Lawerance thick and thin. I payed about $35 each for all of mine. Bought a Giant lot that had most of the set. I have all Envelopes, Medals, and Paperwork that came with them in nice custom made Dansco Albums. Rob

Ya I like them alot too. Very nice set. I have 77 total medals. 69 envelopes and 60 papers that came with the medals. Nice set I really like it. Updated my ecrater and ebay if anyone was looking to find some medals. The bottom picture the last medal bottom right is same medal as top left. I have 2 of it and haven't found good place for it yet.

There are 13 of the 60 that have the image of a horse on them. I have 8 so far, 6 graded by NGC. These are really stunning medals in hand. They are very high relief, and the designs are very compelling and stunning. I have been looking for #45 for quite a while (great horse image!), but I haven't been successful finding one. As gilgerr24 stated, the ones from the 1970s are particularly difficult to find. I have a very nice #51, which I think I just got lucky finding for the price I did. I don't know of any numbers or estimates, but my feeling is that many (maybe most) of these have been melted down as junk silver. Gilgerr do you have any in sight on that? I don't believe for a second that 6,000 of most issues still exist (or were ever minted for that matter).

brg5658 I have talked to a few different people about these medals. they all thought most were melted down too during the 80s when silver was really high. so there could be just a few hundred to a couple thousand of each. doubt anyone will ever know. I dont believe all 6000 of the later ones were ever issued. couple of the guys I mentioned had seen alot of empty numbered envelopes still brand new. so take in the fack for later ones that not all were issued & alot were melted there really isn't many left I dont think. Penny4Me got the idea from here. https://goccf.com/t/69466took a really long time to do. I actually made a complete canadian set too. 1¢ all the way to the $2. also like 3 or 4 other books of coins I collect.

@gilgerr24: Nice work with the custom album, it shows off your set well! I've been keeping my set in the Premier holders available from Amos Press/ CoinWorld. They hold the medals securely and offer good long-term protection. As you can see in the image below, I haven't yet decided how I'm going to handle the labels/inserts so I just have a blank insert in each.

I got this for silver melt at $16, it contains 1/2 oz of silver, right? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...p=true&rt=ncthis 1963 JOHN F. KENNEDY MEDAL HERALDIC ART So-Called Half Dollar is a little beat-up, but You think it is worth price? I don't think that I could get a nice 1963 KENNEDY for under $25

commems.. I've been looking for just 2 Premier holders for 2 HERALDIC ART So-Called Half Dollar, just like in your image above and I also need just 2 holders in 38mm size for $5 Silver Maple Leaf coins. I have an idea for labels/inserts for blank insert... how about if you have the HERALDIC ART original small envelope that came with MEDAL... to somehow fold it so you can read it as the label/insert? let me know if this idea is good, then I can do the same once I can get a few Premier holders

@Penny4Me: Using the medal's original envelope is an interesting idea, but it would be too thick to fit inside the holder -- the holder wouldn't close or stay closed.
I have a few ideas, I'll post a picture with any successes I develop.
