I was pleasantly surprised to see the RAM website had been updated to include the final 2010 mintage figures for circulating coins earlier this year, only to find in the last few days that they have disappeared.
Googles cached pages show they were still intact earlier this week, but I can't think of a good reason why the figures would have been removed, as they were consistent with the combined total figures from the 2010 and 2011 Annual Reports.
Surely they're not dragging out old dies for another round?
As the 20c, 50c and $1 coins had already started production with 2011 obverses in time for the report, I would think that there should be no change in those mintages.

our Mint seems to enjoy playing ducks & drakes with us. I cannot imagine what advantage they perceive in this childishness.

RAM = government department
government department = stupid, unexplained, uneconomical, irrational decisions just because they can.

All I can say is it's probably just about as true or correct as the RBA's Polymer Banknote figures which are probably different from what they have published because they publish as far as for the financial year.

Yes, I wonder if it was a case of QC catching up with an "oops we've still got an old obverse die being used", but "never mind, they're only 10c pieces so no-one will ever know the difference". Just a pity the 2010 reverse didn't have some unique identifiable characteristic, as locating one of those ~7000 pieces would suddenly become very popular.

 FNQ I sure hope Ausjack doesn't read this. He has "issues" with the way the RAM stuffs us around with mintage figures. It seems to me that they treat collectors of circulating coins with utter contempt.

I'd definitely prefer to see any coin minted from the 1st of January to the 31st of December use obverse dies applicable to that calendar year, and for those figures to be final.
That's the way it works with the "mint your own coin" on the visitor presses after all...
