I was able to snag a few shots of this gorgeous coin before I ran out of breath and stopped running...

So I thought I would share!

Take shots at the grade, and I'll let you know. Also, I was the first to notice that there appears to be a strike-through going through the rock on which her left foot rests. It has a more coppery color, if that makes sense.

Ha, almost forgot. I believe the obverse to be a double die... but like I would know what the heck I'm talking about here.

looks like what they call a wire edge. multiple impressions to get detail will squeeze metal past the collar.

I'd say MS63 H.R. wire edge.

A beauty of a coin, probably one of the best US coin designs ever made IMO. Saw a guy drop one on a concrete floor at the 1982 Colorado Springs ANA Mid Year show, took about $7k off of the value and left a big dinged flat spot on the rim - Ouch. That was the time I got to hold both Brasher Dubloons in hand the EB on breast and EB on wing. Dave Bowers had them at the show for the upcoming Eliasberg Auction (not on display just in his pocket in 2x2 flips), I took his class All About Coins that year. Also my first time to see St. Gaudens High Relief coins up close and personal, before slabbing days. He had so many cool coins for us to look at, it was a youth course about 6 or 7 of us in a room with him and coins for a solid week, pure heaven!
