I haven't heard anything about John for ahile, unless I just spaced it out. Has anyone heard anything about what he's been up to or seen him at any Coin Conventions?

I saw an ad in Coin World Dec 26th issue for the National Silver Dollar Roundtable and noticed that he is listed as president of the organization. In the membership listings he is listed along with his company (Oklahoma Coin Company or something like that). I am going from memory here, but it appears he is still numismatically active.

Thank you, he used to have such a big presence in the Silver Dollar field. He was always buying and selling back in the 80's and 90's and always involved with the Roundtable...I was just hoping someone had seen him at a convention in the Oklahoma, Missouri, Calif., Nevada, etc. area. He was quite the dude back in the day!

If you have access to his book, which I believe came out in the mid - late 1980's, it is a fun read. The book is kind of a compilation of long articles by a large number of individuals who were active in the dollar market in the 1960's when thousand dollar bags were being released. You get a feeling for what is was like dealing during that time.

Great book! I bought it when it came out in 1991. The books are numbered and limited, they weigh about 10 pounds and are very informative and fun to say the least. I'm still really curious if he's still buying and selling at the shows or involved in other ways. He was instrumenal in many ways as to how the Silver Dollar market works.

And about a quarter to a third of it is personal promotion, but it is still a good book and it has some information I have not seen elsewhere. I've had three copies so far. (Lost one to a fire, replaced it and then my local club presented me with one to replace the one I lost in the fire.)

I guess I can answer my question....He's still in business and is still advertising BU Bags of Dollars, and, buying and selling of GSA Morgan dollars on the back page of the Coin Dealer Newsletter. I was glad to notice this in my recent issue...Quite the man!
