So I think I am going to start focusing on SLQ's. This and the Walking Liberty halfs are just awesome coins I think. I am still going to grab up every other coin I can, but this is going to be where I start my studies I think. So here is my first one, a 1929 S Mint...

I like these also. Such a unique design.

Whatever you do, DO NOT LOOK AT A BLAST WHITE OR BLUE UNCIRCULATED example. If you do, you will sell the house, car, and the neighbor's boat to buy the rest of them in that quality. This is quite possibly the most beautiful coin in US coinage. There are others in the running, but these just have everything going for them. Congrats!

Nice. Quote: DO NOT LOOK AT A BLAST WHITE OR BLUE UNCIRCULATED example. This happened to me with Mercury dimes and now I can only afford to collect one series and will make myself broke doing it.

Right on! I'm hooked also. I just bought my first SLQ a 1930S. Bought it from a CCF member. Can't wait to get it!

I've found myself drawn to SLQ as well as the WLH and Barber series. Barbers dont's compare to the other two but for some reason I like them. Nice quarter and that's a beauty of a Merc!

I figure that I need to go ahead and buy big now rather than later when prices rise.

Sort of the same thing already mentioned about once you start with such nice ones, you'll find the rest of them will bankrupt you. They are really a great looking coin but look at the prices for any of them in high grades. Scarry.

That's ok Carl, I got the time. Not all of the ones I buy are going to be quite as nice, but when I can afford them that good then I plan on buying them that good.
