Mysia, Pergamon: Æ17, 200-133 BC, 2.9gm, 17mm. Obv: Head of Athena right in crested helmet, decorated with star. Rev: AΘH - NA NIKEΦHOPOY; owl standing on palm branch.

Nothing like DVcollector's pictured owls, but this one was only $10.

I'm not sure what the letters are on either side of the owl. I've seen other coins with AΠ and KΣ. If you can make them out please let me know. I'll need to do some more research on this one.

Not in the best of shape. The legends run off the flan but it seems a lot of them do.

Could the mark on the cheek of Athena that looks like encrustation in the photo actually be a counter mark filled in. The little rim that shows is raised metal from the surface of the flan.

I like. It's different and I seem to be drawn to coins with different and interesting reverses.

Just $10? Nice...I like it! The owl and its outstretched wings are clear.
Here is one with AH NA above the owl.

I believe your coin may match mine in the side letters. What I see is a pair of ligate groups which explains them being hard to read even if they are clear. I assume these are magistrate marks so it is possible that one would match but not the other. I am not aware of a reference that lists the possibilities. I bought mine because I liked the owl (I got it in trade but it was a lot more than $10 in the dreams of its previous owner).
