Hi, Attahced are scans of an alumunium token from Egypt which I have had for many years. I would be grateful if any one could please identify it for me. One suggestion I have had is that it was issued by Egyption Railways but I have no idea whether this is correct or not. Thanks. I just realised only one of the scans loaded - oh the curse of the Newby! Here is the other side. Edited by Jamesmblair 02/12/2012 7:56 pm

Hi Jamesmblair to CCF This is a Cafe token, 1st pic "30 Milliemes" ..... on the 2nd pic there is the name of the owner and the address of the cafe. It might be from Egypt (as the name of the owner is of the names we use here) or from any other Arab country as there isn't anything that says that it is from Egypt.

Thanks for letting me know. I believe Egypt used milliemes into the 70's.

Libya used to have millemes too, but they were gone even before the Egypt's, together with Idris.

Hi EG Collector,
Thanks for answering my query on this token. Could you please tell me what the name and address stated on it are? Also, do you know if Egyptian Railways issued any tokens?

Could someone please provide a translation of the second pic so that I can do some research on its origins?

What is the width of this token in millimetres, flat-to-flat side?
