the black ring that is around the tail feathers is a shadow from my camera. the fields are mirror like but doesn't show very good.

I'll say about a MS-65. The 80-S is one of the most fully struck Morgans in the whole series and one would be hard pressed to find one lower than a MS-63 because there were so many of them made and they are so fully struck to begin with

Judging from the picture and from a novice I'd say this is a PL for prooflike strike.

Grade- MS 64/65 PL.

From what I can see from the pics, I'll go with ms64 PL. I think a little too much chatter in the left obverse field for the 65, I would like to see another shot of that. Sweet coin!

That's a nice coin. How far was the camera from it? If it's less than 6", I don't think the coin would grade PL, given how fuzzy the image of the camera is. Don't quote me, though.

As far as grade, although I could see it in a 65 slab, if you graded it today it's probably come back 64. That one hit below and behind the eye looks big. If it isn't that big, 65 it is. The reverse is huge.

I think its MS64PL possibly MS65. The small marks on a frosted Miss Liberty always look worse than they do on a non-frosted coin.
I likes it.
