At first, I thought this was post mint damage, however, upon inspecting it closely, it is actually cracks in the coin. Some kind of lamination?

Thanks for the replies. Is it just bad metal lamination from the planchets, or did something get in the way and get nailed to the coin?

I do not remember hearing if IHC's had planchet problems, but I assume any coin could. Is this common for IHC's?

I'm no expert but lamination would make more sense to me than postmint.
