So I'm getting into coin collecting again and was wondering if anybody else is in the same situation I'm in. I'm in the army and stationed in Alaska at the moment and I'm a member of usaa and they don't have a bank to go to but my mortgage back home is from wells Fargo and there are banks here does that mean I'm considered a member and can go there and get boxes of coins I'm collecting pennies right now.

Some banks will ask you if you have an account there, most banks don't even ask me. I would classify a mortgage as an account. They are making money off of you in interest payments. I get penny boxes from many different banks, with one bank I have only an auto loan with them, I made a payment on the loan the first time I got pennies from them but other than the one teller who saw me make the payment, none of the other ones have asked me. I have been getting boxes of pennies from a bank my wife has an account with they have never asked me if I have an account with them, but we put my name on her account last week just in case they ever do ask.
Rest in Peace

Any bank in the chain you're a member, just like using an ATM card or making a deposit.

and glad to hear you are getting back into coin collecting.

Please keep us updated on your finds. It'll be interesting to hear what is found in Alaska.

when u ask for a box of them do u ask for customer rolls or u just take what they give u when I go to the store sometimes I ask for a roll of pennies and the past couple times they been 2010 p uncirculated I've gone threw a couple but wasn't sure if I should keep a couple or just go threw all of them. There no gems in there they are scuffed up but there right from the company who brings them there money or something

I have been so busy this week at work that instead of driving to my usual pickup bank I went to the Wells Fargo around the corner and asked for some rolls of nickels and dimes, I was quickly told that unless I have an account I could not buy change. I called a few other Wells Fargo locations out of cursorily after getting back to the office and was told the same exact thing.

I know that having an auto loan with a bank qualifies you as an account holder, I wouldn't imagine a home loan would be any different.

Oh and by the way, thank you for your service!
