Have just joined this forum and was wondering if anyone had any interest in either the pre decimal or decimal variety market?

There's quite a few folks here who are mad-keen error and variety nuts, including a posse of Mule Hunters. They'll probably check in eventually.

As for myself, I'm more a world and ancients guy. I do have one Australian error coin, a mis-struck (partial collar) sixpence. Also got a few of the well-known, easier decimal varieties (like 1979 and 1980 double-bar 50¢), but that's it.

I've got quite a few pre-decimal errors, nothing of any great value, mostly just 3d & 6d die cracks, filled 8's, large 6's & things like that.

Also have decimal errors, rabbits, upsets, rim Cuds, off centres, planchet flaws, die clashes etc. 1 mule & 1 wavy 20¢ which were Chrissy pressies. All are from circulation.

nice to see you found this place Farnbycoins,

I am one of the folk who are mad-keen error and variety nuts, including a posse of Mule Hunters.

You will find quite a few of the guys from the Aussie Forum who also frequent this place and are right into Varieties and errors.

The wife and I are fast approaching 2 million coins searched, so that should give you some idea of how much we are into it

I haven't got any pre-decimal errors. However, in my search for a 2000 mule, I have come across hundreds of errors. I don't keep errors like die cracks, unless they're as big as the grand canyon. I only keep errors that can be seen with the naked eye.

I try to collect 20 of each. One day, I will make up 20 collections. Then I'll think about what to do with them. lol

Apart from the $1 coins, I have also started to collect 5 cent errors. You need a loupe, but again they are still significant errors.
