Coin in hand now. I think the crossed rifles on the back look ok, and the detail on the soldier's camo is pretty cool. The only design problem I have with most recent modern proofs is the type face. Looks dated.

Overall quality of the coin I received puts it in MS-69 territory.

Just received my pair today. The UNC may go 70 but the proof has a distracting milk spot around 9 o'clock on the obverse. They are snuggled in the Dansco next to their MOA brothers.

I also got mine today (1 proof and 1 uncirculated) they look very good. However, at this time I didn't purchase a defender of freedom set because I truly felt that it was gimmicky in nature and really didn't see it as a fit for coin collecting. I hope that I don't come to regret that decision.

I will most likely go back to the well and purchase at least one or two more proof and uncirculated coins.

I received mine yesterday as well. It's only the second commem I've purchased an was quite pleased. I purchased the uncirc version. Nothing against the Army (I'm active Navy myself) but I would have loved to see the mint put out a commem with the 50th anniversary of John Glenn's first orbit around the earth or something along those lines. True American hero! I do like the infantryman coin though.

It looks nice in hand, the finish of the unc is quite pleasing & may turn out to be this year's Army half dollar. Might get a few more before the end of the introductory period now that the 5oz ATB have gone off sale for product repricing.
