It seems weird around the lower part of the N though, from the picture I can't tell if it's PMD or actually a die crack.

It starts from the A and goes right through, Its the best pic I can do. There is no scratch as I can see and tgere is a bump on it.

Well if the line is dug in the coin it's PMD, if it's like a bump, then it's a die crack.

If that's a die crack..that's the largest and best one I've seen so far.

Usually, a die crack starts from the rim, this looks more like extra piece of metal has fell on the coin when it was struck, or a die chip.

Shaft, I think you hit the nail right on the head. Its actually sticking out and yes, its the biggest I've ever seen as well. It definitely is a bump.

Its interesting that it goes through the N and under the 9.. Is that common for a die crack?

The pictures are just not good enough for analysis IMO. Die cracks can start and stop any where. Look at the 43-52 silver half dollars, many do not reach the rims. Many stop at one edge of a design element and continue on the other side of the same element. Better images or coin in hand is a must here.

This is not a crack, that I can gurantee you. I can see throught the lens as its a bump on the coin. Its the best pic I can get. If there is a better way of taking pics, please some one let me know, I would love to know how. Thanks for all the input guys.

Folcan, a crack on a die makes a bump on a coin.
