1982-P LMC SD Error Question

Hi,

I'm new to collecting so forgive me if this is something common or mundane.

I was looking through some 1982P small dates, and noticed the reverse has some raised lines running through the "I" of both "United" and "America".

Is this an error, and if so, what type of error is it?

Please note that this is a copper cent, not zinc.

Also, I apologize for the poor pictures. I'm still experimenting with lighting.

Those are die cracks. During use, sometimes dies will develop cracks, which creates jagged raised metal lines like this on the coins that are struck. They're fairly common and not particularly valuable unless they're pretty extreme, but they're worth keeping for the novelty factor. The ones you show are a common location for cracks on memorial cents.
