Ahh you got me beat! My favorite medal I own is my bronze Battle of Lexington Centennial medal which is 9 years younger than yours and had 200 struck compared to your 100! Fantastic medal you have there! Wouldn't mind having one in my collection at all

I'm new into medals and am wondering where you find ones of this quality? ebay or auction houses like Heritage?

mitch he has been posting these things for years on this forum and I don't think he finds them on any online place, I think he has connections for them or something. He has some of the best looking medals I have ever seen and most I didn't even know existed. These are two of the ones he has posted that I really like

Hello Mitch,
This piece was found on ebay. A big surprise for one of this quality. Americana auctions such as Heritage or Stacks, now Stacks and Bowers are a good source on these.
Keep in mind that you can pick up electrotypes for a fraction of the price of an original. Albeit they are harder to come across then originals but not as sought after.

Example of an electrotype below,

The Taylor electrotype cost $275.00
A mint made example in that condition would run $1200.00 give or take.

How can you tell that it's an electrotype?

Look at the rim of the medal. If you see indications of a seam where two halfs were joined it is an electrotype copy.
