I have a Bavarian coin that I am wondering about. I read on a previous CCF forum about the adjustment marks, or scratches that this coin usually has. Mine does not, and I am wondering about it's authenticity, and possible value. As you can see it is mounted as a pendant so I can't see what the rim looks like.

Any ideas on this one?

You will only see the adjustment marks if the blank was overweight, while it is not uncommon to see ones with adjustment marks, many do not. So their absence does not mean anything. Your coin looks real enough, but being in the pendant setting getting a weight is impossible. It kinda has the look like it had once been polished however and the fact it is in the setting makes it value minimal even if you remove it.They are listed at $30.00 in VG condition
I would keep it in the setting myself, I kind of like it.

Many thanks for the reply. It may be of more interest to someone who doesn't mind sporting a heavy dull silver coin around their neck. So far no one in family has taken me up on the offer.
