Thought about it last year but finally pulled the trigger and looking to start treasure hunting! Got home from work and found a new ACE 250 on my doorstep, hastily put it together and did some searching in my backyard before it got dark out. I was surprised that I actually found a couple metal shards, foil and a 1988 Canadian cent! Hopefully I'll have a decent amount of time to get acquainted with this machine.

Out of curiosity, I decided to run it in my attic to see if I could find anything hiding in or behind the insulation. No luck, but it's not like I was expecting anything. Just curious to know if anyone has tried the same thing and what their experiences were. I found the electrical wiring (knob and tube) was probably causing a large amount of interference.
Rest in Peace

, zarocks--

Knob and tube is safe unless you act as the ground.

So far not too bad, yesterday I found a clad dime, a '41 Nickel and 2 wheat cents ('35 D and '45) so I'm pretty excited. Tried turning the sensitivity waaaaay down (to 2 bars) since I was getting a ton of signals, I'm thinking it was finding a bunch of tiny scrap or something. Hoping the rain holds off over the weekend and I can try some other spots.

I love my Garrett, the Ace 350. Simple to operate, accurate. I've heard some say they hate the bell tone, I actually like it. Pinpoints nice, great product...enjoy!
