Just a Question is it common for the mint mark to be in different locations from the date?

Yes. They were hand punched and fall where they may until 1990, then they were hubbed into the dies.

Well, that answered my first question quickly. I will keep some with noticeable differences that I saw.

Second question; Any difference in value for "D" in different positions.

Thanks,
Jeff

Positioning differences will generally only warrant a premium if the mintmark is touching part of the date which tends to be quite unusual.

I just happened to notice one with the "D" quite a bit further under the date than the others. I will label it as a "dropped D".
I will have to keep an eye out as I continue sorting out other years.
