ebay does not allow replecias to be sold on their site... I found this first dollar called a 'Joachimsthaler'. It is about 42 mm across. Weight of metal unknown.
What value or price should I sell this item, flea market or auction ? Price of gas in 1967, was .33 a gallon, this sold for $2.50. Gas is now, about $5.00+ so $2.50 X 15 = 37.50 Prices of most items (gas, gold, bread, postage) appear to go up over time. This exercise proved it.
I had the article from Expo 1967. The Czechoslovakian pavillion (where Bohemian silver mine was located) minted these souvenirs & sold them for $2.50 forty four years ago. The fact that it is silver plated copper is important but it will not stop Yahoos from rubbing the sides to test if it is solid silver. I think it is a good conversation piece at least $20, if it doesn't sell, no loss to me. Thank you for your comments. Geoff
