Apparent doubling of the 9. What is it?

The S also looks like it may be RPM, nice going on the find!

The possible rpm on the S is hard to see, but I thought it might be possible. Is this just an extreme case of machine/ejection doubling?

The extra curve next to the 9 looks rounded to me, not shelf-like, on normal Machine Doubling. That's what makes me curious about this one.

Yes, that's what makes me think Machine Doubling, but again, the extra 9 looks like it has curved detail to me.

The last 9 in the date looks to have the same effect as found on the 1955 "Poor Man's" Doubled Die. Probably die fatigue, unfortunately. As far as the MM is concerned, that could be repunched. Maybe this one here on the coppercoins website: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=lds
