Is there a way to open a GSA Morgan holder and re-seal it or close the case again so that it looks as if if hasn't been opened? There's an advert on craigslist that I'd like to buy from but it's a sketchy low price so I thought I'd ask here before looking at it.

Here's the kind of holder I'm talking about: GSA-Morgan-Holders-Question

It also comes with the rest of the box and COA.

Thanks!

Do you have one already to compare it too?

I think it could be done, but would be difficult. Unless its a 1880, 1881 or 1885 I dont think it would be worthwhile for somebody to spend the time to do it.

Ill post a picture of the sides of the holder if it would help..

Yeah, that would help. If there are no seams along the sides then it'd be easy to tell. And it;s a 1885 CC and he's asking $100 which is why I'm concerned.

Seems too good to be true, unless the seller is really unaware of the value...

Here are a few quick pics, I can take better tomorrow in the light..

Its a really nice seam.. no glue residue inside, maybe a few tiny air bubbles stuck in the glue but hard to see.

1885 CC GSA? $100?

Either not very bright (the seller) or its stolen. Being a pessimist, I'd lean towards stolen.

That would be something I would definately want to check out before I buy. Maybe weigh a verified real one in a GSA slab for reference and bring a scale with you. Maybe you have hit the jackpot, who knows?
