Hi all, I would like some of your opinions here. I am having a hard time deciding which coin to include in my U.S. Type set. Let me know which one you would include and why.

Same as before. Looking for your opinion on which coin to include in my U.S. Type set and why.

Thanks in advance!!

ndgoflo, I took the liberty of combining your threads so as to keep the second from pushing another worthy thread off the front page. I hope you don't mind.

Well, having edited you, the least I can do is reply.

I'm having a little trouble seeing much distinction between the Frankies, but I believe in both cases the left-hand coin is the more lustrous. Those are the choices I'd make, unless, of course, the 1934 is a San Francisco mint, which is a rarity.

Don't mind the combination at all. Seeing as how my pics didn't really turn out as well as I had imagined, I guess I should describe the coins a little better.

The Franklins are both uncirculated (IMO) the left coin is a 1948-D and the right is a 1949 (that I think has had a cleaning, thus dulling the luster)

As for the Peace dollars, the left is an uncirculated 1926 (with "milk" spots) and the right is a Fine 1934-S.

I guess what I would really like to know is, which ones will be more desirable in 30 years. (Anybody have a crystal ball?)

Agreed that both LH pics are better. How are the rest of the coins in your type set? Do they look out of place with the rest of the coins? IMHO, type sets with uniform grades look much better than when it jumps around in grades.

Regards,
Ken

P.S. That 34S is a nice investment coin and the 1926 isn't too shabby either as it could be a sleeper in the series but the 34S is definitely the better coin from an investment point of view!

Uncirculated Peace dollars are a real sleeper, IMO. Keep 'em both, put the 1926 in the Dansco because it's prettier.

I vote for the 34S Peace dollar and 48 Franklin.
