Quote: 05/15 Kennedy Half-Dollar Two-Roll Set You know......I've been getting a "two roll set" of the Kennedys every year since 2006-2007. But I'm wondering "WHY" nowadays...... I don't think there is any big deal on "premiums" paid anywhere, for U.S. Mint wrapped P&D two roll Sets. There very well may NEVER be much of a premium. I'll already have the P&D coins for my Dansco when I get the Uncirc. Mint Set from the U.S. Mint. In the interest of saving money, unless it's a "must-have" buy, I'm thinking of making last years issues, "my" last purchase of them. (by the roll anyway) Anybody else getting these Kennedy rolls each year ? And "Why" exactly ? ....................... .................

Any one have an idea of when they will have the regular and silver proof sets? I am late for someone's birthday gift now!

I am just starting to get the halves. Partially for resale on single coins, partially for my own collection.
I was not at all impressed with the National Anthem coins. They are not much better than the God awful 9-11 commem. I really am growing sick of this modern art style junk on my coins.

The latest Kennedy strikes look terrible, too. The relief is so shallow they look like tokens, not coins.

Seems sales will be suspended when silver is near or over $35/oz. so who knows how this situation will last this time? Re: the 2012 proof eagles, they'll priced @ $61.95 each, which is $3 more than last year's closing price, FYI.

A little history re: 2011 PF's Quote: The annual 2011-W Proof American Silver Eagle was released on June 30, 2011 for a price of $59.95 when silver was around $35 an ounce. Due to rising silver prices -- up toward $40 an ounce, the Eagle went up to $68.45 on August 29, 2011. Silver prices then plummeted toward $30 an ounce and the proof Eagle's price was trimmed during the first week of October to $58.95. The coin was at that price level when it sold out on November 22.

I'm still torn between ordering some proof ASE or getting them already slabbed. $62 + $10-$15 grading - vs getting one for $70 already slabbed.

If you collect them in slabs and you are after 69s and not 70s then it makes sense to buy them already in slabs since most of those were slabbed buy dealers who send them in bulk and get low prices so you can get them below what it would cost to do yourself. If you are after slabbed 70s, it is probably cheaper to do it yourself but with the price of slabbed 70s dropping because the percentage of them is rising that may not be true anymore.
