Hello,

I was CRH through a box of nickels and came across this nickel. I saw on the reverse the word "cents" appears to be double(hopes) but is ever possible of MD. Also on the obverse under the letters B&R in "Liberty" there looks to be something stamped under them but I can't make out what it may be so any and all insights and suggestions are appreciated.

Sorry it is Machine Doubling. The die movement during the strike damaged some of the devices. A doubled die shows doubling that is on the die. This appears larger than normal devices.

Compare the normal with the doubled die and you can see how the devices. On Machine Doubling the devices are normal sized, but show distortion from damage.

Hope this helps?
