So you guys/gals don't think conserving would hurt the value then?

Not if done by a professional like NCS. The surface verdigris is VERY minor from what I see in the pictures. Just a couple of light spots on the obverse. NCS will conserve the coin and slide it over to NGC for you....

....have your wallet ready. LOL

Well worth the expense though, especially you ever need to sell it. GOOD LUCK!

Actually they only charge 4% of the value of the coin which isn't too bad since we're not talking about a $100,000 coin or anything. I was just concerned if there would be a stigma attached to the NGC holder such as "cleaned." Thanks again!

As long as the conservation goes well (and I think it will), there will be nothing on the NGC slab except a grade. Nobody will know about the conservation but you.

Well I know the grade of this coin as I got to look on the NGC site but I do not have it in hand yet, should I tell the grade now and then post pics or wait?

Before you post the grade, let me chime in: EF-40. Really want to say 45, though. One of the nicer 22 no D's you'll see; congratulations!

Considering you got a $6000+ coin, you still made out like an obese rodent.
