I attach scans of a Turkish token I acquired many years ago. Although I have shown it to numerous people over the years no-one has been able to provide any information about it. What I would like to know is who issued it, approximate date, and what it was used for.

The metal is Cu-Ni and the diameter 28mm.

I would be most grateful for any information on this piece.

I believe it is a jeton from around 1950 from the London Textile Co-Operative Company (in Turkish: A.M.K.S.) in Turkey made probably given to workers to buy their products. This one is a 50 kurush token.

Hi Apollo,

Could you please advise what the letters actually stand for in Turkish? Was this a subsidiary Turkish company?
