Fantastic set. I don't have any of the olympic coins yet Yes that gold plated one is expensive, I bought the 1012 proof set just for that coin

Depends what you personally consider a set.
If what you are aiming for is a set with one of each reverse deign you seem to have done a pretty good job.
To have every 50c I think you would need to have proofs and circulation/UNC coins for each reverse they were issued for. Add to that any commemerative reverse designs, the incuse and cloloured variations then the number is huge like steve has suggested.

A set is what you want it to be it is purely a personal choice. IMHO a set is NEVER finished, there is always that upgrade or verity you don't have that makes this hobby soo interesting and challenging. Ya gotta love it

I like your set with the proof and circulation coins mixed together. They really stand out.

Every week, I go to bank and get $50 worth of 50c to noodling, so far, found 2 1973, 1 1993 and 1 1997, a few 1971, 1971, and 1974

I have found around 10 1993 and 20 1973 but the hardest one in my opinion is the 1985. I've only found 3, one of which is so green it enough to make me sob.

Wow Admislse great set. Something I struggle with is to cut out of original packaging or not with my own dollar collection. I have previously cut up say a mint set or baby set for the standard or commemorative coin but completely failed at cutting up say the VC dollar pnc. The collections look beautiful if you cut them all out and lay the coins out in their 2x2 or capsules. But without destroying some packaging that's sadly not possible.
