Hello all, I'm new to your forum, thanks for the opportunity to join  My Dad has a loonie that he's wanting to know if it was simply a Canadian Mint printing error, or if it is in fact a rare coin. The loonie itself has the Queen's bust printed on both sides... no date, no Loon, just the Queen. Have contacted a few places, but I never got a response  Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend. -JB |

 to CCF. Take a real close look using a magnifier at the edge, look for any sign of a seam. If there is one then it was made like that post mint. That is your first step then wait for more input from other members. John1  |

If it is not a fake, probably the only way it got stamped with the Queen on both sides, is if the coin was re-entered back into the stamping machine reversed.
Can't wait to see the outcome of this coin.

I would put this coin in a safe place where it wont get scratched or anything... Really I'm not sure how this would happen or if its real.  |

another way you could take a photo so we can see both sides at the same time would to use 2 mirrors like a corner thou it may take a bit of adjusting till it gets right would be a great photo to show everyone your possible awesome find.

Sometimes with fake double-headed coins the seam is on one side, hidden just inside the rim instead of along the rim of the coin. One coin has one side ground off, and the rim milled away. The other has the middle machined out and the other coin pressed into it. You can get trick nickels made this way in magic shops, and I've found two of these in circulation.
I can't see a seam from these pictures, but it's something to look for if you have any way of looking at it under magnification.

Doubled sided loonies are available in magic shops for about $12. This is more than likely what you have. They are available in doubled sided heads or doubled sided tails.
Google two-sided loonie.
