I collect mainly Lincoln Cents, so I dont really pay close attention to dimes. Came across this one, and am curious to what the info is on it. they arnt vcery good pics took em' with my camera phone but I am curious to a what a guestimated value is and if its a rare DDO.Obviously I didnt find it in a roll and it has seen better days, buts its a pretty big DDO. check out rooseveklts ear. its plainly doubled. along with Liberty, In God we trust and tghe date etc. also what type of hub doubling? care to take a stab at it? thanks guys as always, you are helpful.

yeah I will attempt to get better pics today within a couple of hours. I dont have the proper equipment for taking the pics at my house, but, I will take some additional ones. aside from the E which is notched check out roosevelts ear, compare it to a another circulated dimeand you will see the doubling. @jasper62 you are good. There is notching in the e, along with the rest, thats actually what caught my eye!I picked it up and I believe the words that came out of my mouth were something like "HOLY $**T! No Way"!

The mark on the E could just be coin contact. If it were from a doubled die, the other devices would show this as well. Seems like I see a lot of contact on this coin?

yeah, again, it has seen better days, and all devices are doubled, visible notching on letters, nose, ears, hairline, "in god we trust" and 1979. also a bit odd, I noticed that it was slightly larger and thicker than your average joe dime. found a circulated denver minted 1974 roosevelt to compare it to, because again, I do not collect dimes ( I have only a small handful I purchased, but not many) anyway, The pics arnt going to be much better I'm afraid, but I'm making due with what I have until I can go to the shop.

So what is the verdict? No one has given me info on DDO dimes and if 1979 is a known year. I'm not asking whether it is a DDO or not I'm looking for information and also the value of it

1979 is not on the list. I'm really thinking I should send this in. His ear is doubled so is the nose. I'm uploading more pics within 30 min so seeing that theres no records of it, NOW I will ask your guys opinions on what type of hub doubling ..ddo 1 DDO 2 ddo4 etc

Jenn before wanting to send all coins in to get certified wait till you have an expert opinion on here. Dont get me wrong Id be excited to find Doubled Dies just as you do but hold onto your coins, take better pics, and hear what the experts say. Then you can decide what to do from there. But as far as that goes I dont think thats a doubled die sorry. I'm thinking youre getting coins confused with mechanical doublings and Doubled dies.

Hey Jenn, Aaron here.. I think you might be on to something here because I have been going through coins with my microscope and I have run into the exact same errors as you have mentioned... I have doubling in the ear lobe and even a little on the date...
