1996 Jefferson Nickel Rim To Rim Die Crack And Possible Cud

Where is the best place to get varieties on nickels ? like coppercoins is for pennies . Edit: checked Cuds on coins and no listing for this date . Your coin is a pre event for a Cud. I would save it for now. You never know, they might want to see the progression of the die and you have the coin in hand. To have been a Cud, there would have had to be evidence of a die break. The coin would had to have shown either horizontal or vertical metal displacement. It would have been a Retained Cud because design elements show, meaning the break in the die would have still been retained. Report this Post to the Staff

Just imagine how I felt when I got this one to pop out of a circulated roll from the bank. This one's not retained (no design elements) because the break in the die fell out.
