Was a pretty good day of hunting. Found a 1915 S Buffalo nickel and a 1973 Kennedy Proof.

No silver, but I'll take it.

I always appreciate a recovered proof! The Buffalo is a welcome find as well. Very nice!

Yeah, it's nice to "save" the proofs. That 15S is a sweet find. I have yet to pull a buffalo with a mm from a roll.

Interesting to see that proofs slip into circulation.

So the second one is a proof? Is it because of the San Francisco mint mark.

I held the impaired proofs on Kennedys for a long time. I think that the number was over 50 or 60. I got tired of holding them all. I dumped them all at one time. I wonder if anyone ever found this treasure trove?

In this case, yes. From 1968 to date, all S-Mint Kennedy half dollars are proof.
