I've already soaked this coin in acetone. I see multiple laminations on the reverse.

That is from a poor mix of copper in the stock material. Often called woodies. Sometimes looks neat and other times not.

you might have both. (only an opinion). I think the reverse looks neat, the obverse - not so much. sitll a pretty cool coin. I personally like the "woodys"

Both my 09-S and 09-S vdb have that. Improperly mixed alloy.
