I looked on ebay and most of the L* 1969 notes weren't sold and the ones that were seemed to be for just about $110 to $120. What makes this a tough note? Just the low print run of 320k and it being from the 1969 series? Or am I missing something else? Thanks for all you help!! |

I don't have any particular insight, but I was impressed with the apparent grade of your note, which looks strong XF at a minimum and probably AU. What were the grades of the ebay notes that you checked? Similar? |

Picked up a Confederate $2 T-42 and $2 T-43 in higher grades than the past notes I had.   |

IGE - First, welcome back to the forum - we have missed you. I am clueless on the Confeds, but these appear in very nice condition.  Edited by Coinfrog

Thanks Frog, I've missed being here.
The paper used for these was very poor quality so they usually come in very sad shape. Only a couple very small pin holes on these and the T-42 even has some crispness in the paper. I was very happy to find these, at an antique store no less.

That's my guess. Very hard to buy coins at antique stores but scarce paper is a different story. Those that don't specialize usually use old catalogs and are unaware of current market conditions. Coins on the other hand, they think age determines price and are usually way over priced. We all know how that goes.
