It is a typical 64 for an early-generation CGA note, but a 63 today at PCGS or PMG, imho. I'm guessing tech didn't pay 64 money for it, either.

I recall reading something about the "Wall of Greed Hoard" before. Always a headscratcher.

Was that note too beat up for a grade and just received the pedigree?

Coinfrog, Wheatback, was going to cut it and send to another TPG; but have made FINAL decision to leave it as is and be happy. You're correct I did NOT pay a 64 price, but calculated cutting/sending/paying fee would cost more than I really wanted to put into the note; besides I bought it for the type.

Cmcart - Curious what so many of your super notes are $100s.

Stever - Thanks for the link.

hajduk - Nicest I've seen today. You have the most expansive tastes.

tech - smart move.

Hey hajduk, That Confederate $5.... the face's left margin has a little extra bit attached. Is that a folded cut? or someone with too much time decided to partially trim the borders?

Picked up this 1934 $50 FRN (DGS) recently. All 12 districts issued these notes, and all are quite affordable in gem - a good set to put away at today's prices.
