Interesting. Having "National Bank" where the town/city name usually is must not happen very often.

Nice notes, coinfun31. I like that courtesy autograph deuce. Interesting that someone broke up a sheet for that.

This might be a slight exaggeration, but I believe Mary Ellen Withrow may have autographed more notes than all the other Treasurers combined. I once saw a 4-subject sheet that had her signature on all four notes.

In fairness, the Treasurer of the US doesn't have much else to do.

Likely done in one sitting with the intention of breaking them up. Maybe. Who knows.

Cool Virginia National.

We have a huge general and farm supply store nearby called Rural King....they sell everything under the sun, even farm animals.

Steve,

I think Francine Neff would give her a run for her money on courtesy autographs. I've seen a lot of '76 deuces sporting Francine's signature over the years. I actually have a 16-subject sheet of '76 $2 Dallas "K" stars around here somewhere that sport her autograph on each note. (Unless of course she was the queen of the auto pen!)

Remind me again of what the Treasurer of the US does besides showing up for photo ops and signing autographs. This is the ultimate token ceremonial office and has been since shortly after WWII.
