Picked up this bad boy today. I have been searching for a 1923 red seal for a little while now and rememberd this one has been sitting at rosehill coin for some time. I was able to talk them down from what I felt was already a decent price and thought I couldn't get much better for the price. At least not with what's out there on the market now. I find notes in worse shape going for about $50 or so more then what I paid... I paid $100 even. Not a HUGE deal by any means but I personally felt it was worth it. And I like it so that's all that really matters anyways right. I grade it FINE-15 Mayyybe 20. If I was lucky... Eh Probably not 20..    |

Nice radar tech. I picked up this 1934 C $10 silver cert last week after I noticed that I did not have even one such note. It's nothing special but at least I have one now.  |

Techwriter- One day I just might own a radar, repeater, and some error notes. Nice Serial! ;)
Yakimaboy- Nothing special but special :) You know those basic SC's are one of my favorite types of notes. Just like the '53 '63 $5 red seals. I buy them all the time just because I think the US notes are great and although relatively inexpensive now, they will rise in the future.

CollectorKing - Agree probably a Fine grade. This is a one-year type note, of course, and along with its little USN brother from the '28 Series (also a one-year type), it is a favorite in my collection.
tech - that's great. Circulation find?
Yakima - Very nice. Get yourself the '53B in this series (last of the $10 Silvers)- easy to find, still affordable.

This next note a true rarity in the small size world. I was flipping through a large stack of circulated notes that recently came into the local coin shop. I always flip through to look for mules, rare blocks, or fancy serial numbers. By chance I came across this rare 307 face plate in that large stack and had to do a double take. Couldn't believe what I was seeing! Less than two dozen are known to exist. Hitting something like this is like hitting the lottery. For a bit of extra info on these notes, here's an excerpt I found on another site: " 47,000+ sheets were printed and the majority of those were overprinted with yellow seal North African issues. This fact is not to be overlooked. A very small portion of these sheets were overprinted with blue seals. Yellow seal 307's are scarce in their own right, but compared to blue seal 307's you would think they are common. Research has indicated printing ratios of 30 to 1, yellow to blue!" Great notes arrived today! 1950A STAR ERROR Note Confederate States of America $100 Note I have been wanting this specific CSA note for a while. Got it for the lowest price I have yet to see :) How much of an error is the 1950 $10 note really? I don't think it adds any more value to it, it is just a little ink stain but it is a star note as well which makes it a little bit cooler. I like it.      |

Where is the stain on the $10 star note? Is it those vertical lines?

yes, the two vertical lines to the left and right of Hamilton. I got it as just a 1950 star note. I just thought the ink stain was cool as well as it is a $10 bill that was not problem free, twice.

Hard to tell from the photos because they are too small, but it looks like staining on the $10 from where a bank strap was around the bills and caused some staining along the edges of where the strap was. The markings aren't characteristic of an ink smear/ink error.
