http://www.ebay.com/itm/17079071097....m1497.l2649I purchased this coin. It's odd, even though his feedback is low, he was selling lots of gold with positive feedback, so I thought I was golden. Anyways, 9 days after the "estimated delivery date", the tracking # he sent is dead, and he has not responded to me even after repeated emails...so I had to file a claim. Hopefully he will eventually return my money, or at least give me a response.

If it doesn't work out, you are are almost gaurenteed your money back. After all, ebay, and paypal for that matter, have shifted their policies to increase buyer protection. But then again, your always out your time and the coin you wanted in the first place.

Sorry to hear about the non-D Johnny. My strongest recommendation is to call the ebay customer support line. They really have some good English as a First Language CSR's. Give them the item number and explain the circumstances. Every bit of correspondence you've sent to the seller pops up on their screen and they will note the seller's non-responsiveness. You'll be reimbursed hands down. I've been on both sides of this equation as a seller and buyer. While ebay takes a lot of grief here by some, I've not found anything that beats it if you're in the right... Good luck buddy! PG

I'm getting pretty close to this point with a recent coin auction. Fortunately it wasn't anything expensive, but it's still annoying.

you will get your money back if the seller cannot provide proof of shipment and or delivery, that is what buyer protection is all about. you are protected through ebay and paypal. looks like he has a decent track record if you read his feedback comments, why he chose not to respond is kind of odd.

It's entirely possible something strange happened, they could have had a heart attack or hit by a car, or a family emergency or something.

Yeah, the tracking# shows that he electronically generated a label(sig confirmation only), but it never showed accepted at the post office. He claimed that he shipped it initially. I inquired further about it after several days later, just to make sure the tracking number was right since there were no updates. He said he would look into it and never responded back. Now after 2 weeks and 3 subsequent emails from me inquiring for further info, he had not responded, and the tracking shows no signs of life. I suppose its possible that he did ship it and the post office never updated the tracking and it ended up getting lost? But I'd think he would be working really hard to figure out what was going on(as opposed to blowing me off)...and though I've had smaller delays with USPS in the past, there was always some evidence that the coin had shipped.

You did right by filing a claim. ebay will respond by asking both sides to submit responses as to what happened. They will then decide. It certainly sounds like you have a very valid claim and ebay should refund your money. Did you use PayPal? If you did, that will help tremendously in getting a refund.

Probably he double listed an item and sold yours to somebody else or he lost it and now he is scrambling to try and find another one to send you. I dont know why he wont respond though.... Your best bet is just getting the refund from ebay/paypal. I'm sure it will work out fine (the refund part)

If it never showed acceptance at the PO then any delivery confirmation on it wouldn't have worked either. So if you file the claim with paypal they won't be able to show delivery and you should get your money refunded. (Assuming you used Paypal. If you didn't use paypal your chances of a refund decline greatly. )

that hurts. Hope you get the coin asap. like the others said you've got a good cause for a claim and get refund. but the refund isn't the coin
